The Jim Rush Funeral Homes are locally-owned and operated by the Jim Rush Family. In 2003 Jim decided that his family could better serve the community by taking personal ownership of the Funeral Homes. Jim maintained ownership and administration of the chapels and was able to bring his son, Greg, on as General Manager, keeping it a family-run business. The Remembrance of Life Service will be announced later by the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services. In 1993, the business, but not the chapels, was sold to Prime, a large Funeral Home conglomerate. Please direct any gifts to Church of God World Missions, P.O. at Jim Rush Funeral Homes, North Ocoee Chapel who is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Nov. In 1978, Jim Rush took sole ownership of the North Ocoee and Wildwood Avenue Chapels. Swafford, Jennie Mae (Cleveland) Jennie Mae Swafford, 80, of Cleveland, Tn., died early Tuesday morning. The name of the business then became the Buckner Rush Funeral Homes. Maybell 'Mae' Bottoms, 76, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, Jin a Chattanooga hospital. Thanks again JRFH for doing an outstanding job again. The business that would become the Jim Rush Funeral Homes has been serving families in Cleveland for 44 years. There might be cheaper alternatives for funeral services but I find JRFH the best. The funeral service is an important point of closure for those who have suffered a recent loss, often marking just the beginning of collective mourning. To those that say they seem greedy, I'm really shocked that you feel that way, sorry that has happened but trust me, it has never been about who could or could not pay more. To Greg, Darla and the Jim Rush family/crew, THANK YOU! You will always be my first choice in time of need. They did a great job preparing her and made her look younger and it appeared she hadn't even been sick. My mom had cancer and her final days, she lost a lot of weight, I was somewhat afraid she would look sickly during the service, however, she looked peaceful. I just buried my mom in April 2022, luckily she had a small policy, they were very patient to get the money from the insurance. Greg and Darla always seem compassionate, even when we had no insurance to pay, they worked with us. Jim Rush is the only place my family has gone for many years, more years than I can remember back. Greg and Darla (and the late Jim Rush) at Jim Rush Funeral home have always been good to my family for generations. No one ever wants the service of a funeral home but we know often times we will need one.
